Welcome
Welcome to Dash of Maple!
This space has been a long time coming. The idea of Dash came to fruition in 2020, a year most of us remember as being closely tied to lockdowns and loneliness.
With a heap of time spent at home, hobbies picked up and put down, and somewhere in between attempts at homemade sourdough and Dalgona coffee, Dash of Maple was born.
-
For as long as I can remember food has been the centre of gatherings big and small, a tie to memories made with friends and family, a connection to nature through gardens, foraging and farming, a star in moments of celebration, and shared as love notes passed down through generations.
-
When I thought up Dash, I dreamt of creating a cookbook to share, or perhaps a memoir of recipe love notes. A book that could sit in the heart of your home, blending in with decor on a table but standing out in what it holds.
After a year of dreaming, and playing in this space, I put my plans on hold.
-
(not forever, just until the time was right). I was shifting gears, and creating space for a new venture - studying design.
-
It felt like a bit of a shame putting Dash on pause, but during my first year of study, I had the opportunity to create a brand identity. A personal creation with no limitations and Dash of Maple was the perfect case study. I spent a few weeks creating a brand identity, inclusive of a book cover, business card and other assets that have evolved over the years. Creating was effortless and fuelled with inspiration from the year before.
Once the final product was finished, a mockup of my book was the final piece in cementing the idea of creating Dash of Maple into something tangible and real.
-
Fast-forward to today - 14 days off 4 years to the date, of my first Dash of Maple post. The timing feels divine and right.
I’ve studied, built a business, travelled, built a home and collected and created recipes from and with friends, and family.
And I now sit here, creating this space, ready to finally take Dash of Maple off pause.

So, let’s press play.
